“Kent State ended a women’s field hockey game for football fireworks. Now Teams are fuming.
As a female athlete at High Point University I found this story infuriating. It is common knowledge that Field Hockey brings in less revenue than Football. However, this is no reason to why female athletes should feel as though their competition is any less important than a male sport with more spectators. I hope that this story serves as a lesson to other athletic programs to treat all of their athletes with an equal amount of respect.
